Moving

How long will my move take?

The main factors that determine the duration of your move are:

Below is an average guide. Please note this may not be indicative of your move and is there as a guide only:

Can you dismantle & reassemble my furniture?

We carry a tool kit with a drill, allen keys, screw drivers, spanners to dismantle & reassemble most common furniture such as beds, tables etc.

If you have furniture that requires specialist tools, please have these on hand or request them from the manufacturer.

Can you detach & reattach the pipes on my washing machine?

Most pipes can be unscrewed by hand. So, yes.

If they are attached using specialist plumbing tools, you may need to contact a local plumber.

When should I book my move?

Book your move as soon as you have locked in a moving date.

As a general rule, people normally book 2 to 4 weeks in advance.

It’s worth noting, the most popular days for people wanting to move are towards the end of the week & weekends.

Can you help me pack?

Yes.

If you know you might run out of time or you’re overwhelmed with the whole moving process, we can help you with part of the pack or we can take care of the whole pack & move for you.

We’ll come one or a few days before your move and pack all your belongings carefully into sturdy moving boxes for safe transit.

Are there items you don’t move?

Yes.

Please see list below:

Pianos & billiard tables require specialist equipment and tools to move.  Therefore we recommend you google “melbourne piano movers” and find a service provider that way.  For flammables, it’s probably best to transports them in your own vehicle.

I’m on a budget. What’s the cheapest way I can move?

The best way to save is by getting organised & start weeks in advance.

Packing

How many boxes do I need?

We’ve prepared some moving packs to  get you started here.

Can you help me pack?

Yes.  We can help with part of the pack or can take care of it completely.

We can do this a day or so before the move so you don’t have to live with the clutter & boxes all around you.

It is preferred that you declutter by donating, recycling, or disposing of things you no longer need to save on packing time. Do this a few weeks or months prior to the move as this takes time.

Where do I start?

Start with things you can live without or don’t regularly use such as seasonal clothing, excess crockery, books etc.

Designate an area where you can stack boxes so they’re not in your way.

How do I pack?

Use the small boxes for heavy & fragile items. (Books, magazines etc. & crockery, glasses & cups)

Use big boxes for bulkier, light items such as bedding, tapeware, pots & pans etc.

Balcony lift

Can you lift items over a balcony?

This depends on the item & how many levels it needs to be hoisted up or down to.

Since we use straps or mechanical hoists, we are limited to 1st or second level properties.

If you need to hoist things higher, you may need to engage the services of a crane hire company.

What items can you lift over a balcony?

Beds, couches, light cupboards, large items of furniture.  There may be a weight limit also.

We do NOT hoist:
